Nashville Predator Captain Earns Two Awards

NHL goal-scoring leader (and multi million-dollar man) Alex Ovechkin was named January’s first star by the league on Friday. Ovechkin earned his keep with the Washington Capitals by leading the NHL with most points (22) for the month. And for those of you who know what that whole + and - thing is about, he was a +9.
Nashville Predator captain J.P. Dumont earned a couple of awards today: NHL’s second star (for his six goals and 20 points on the month), and he was also awarded a four-year extension worth $16 million. Nice.
Montreal Canadiens goalie Christobal Huet was named the NHL’s third star by posting a record of 8-2-1 with a 2.40 goals-against average and one shutout in January.
